The Czech Republic lost its European Championship opener against Portugal 2-1 after a winning goal in added time by Francisco Conceicao. It was prompted by a saber by centre-back Robin Hranac.
Just over 20 minutes earlier, he had pushed the ball into his own goal from close range.

The nightmare wasn’t over there. In the next match, they played 1-1 against Georgia and the opponents’ goal was scored on penalties after the VAR room found a hand on exactly Robin Hranac.
Despite the blunders, he is supported by national team captain Ivan Hasek.
– I think he will be lucky in the next match. He is a player you can build around and he has many qualities. This was really bad luck, and so was the match against Portugal. But he is one of the best in the Czech Republic and I don’t think he will play in the Czech league for much longer, says Hasek about Hranac, who on a daily basis represents Viktoria Plzen.
