(Finance) – Increases more than expected weekly gas storage in the USA. According to the Energy Information Administration (EIA), a division of the US Department of Energy, gas storage in the week ending June 14, 2024 increased by 71 BCF (billion cubic feet).
The figure turns out to be higher than consensus (+69 BCF). The week before there was an increase of 74 BCF.
The total stocks they therefore reached 3,045 billion cubic feet, an increase of 12.7% compared to a year ago (when they were equal to 2,702) and an increase of 22.6% compared to the average of the last five years of 2,484 BCF.
