Frida Karlsson is fully charging ahead of a new season.
Now she opens up about her expectations for the WC season.
And what it will be like to meet Therese Johaug again.
It’s been a few months since the last ski season ended. For Frida Karlsson part, she can look back on a very nice winter on the ski tracks.
Karlsson’s success
Unfortunately, the season was completely titleless, but she should still be proud of many fine efforts and some victories at the World Cup. The 24-year-old finished a strong third in the overall World Cup and the biggest moment came in Holmenkollen.

Then Frida took a very impressive victory on the tough five mile and beat all the Norwegians on their home turf. Recently, Karlsson has been allowed to take time off and rest his body again for what is to come.
Frida about Johaug
The pre-season has already started and next season the big goal will obviously be the Ski World Cup in Trondheim 2025. Where there is a high probability that there could be a fond reunion with the Norwegian ski queen Therese Johaug.
– Really, it’s going to be so awesome, says Frida to Tidningen Ångermanland and then opens up about the old rival.
– Yes, I’m pretty sure we’ll see Therese Johaug again and I only see that as a positive. After all, there is enormous interest in that girl, so it is only positive for the sport as such.

But the Swedish skiing star is not nearly as convinced that Johaug will be as superior as when she quit. As it has been two years since she left her skiing career and the Norwegian became a mother too.
– You also want to compete against the best, but Therese will be seriously challenged and it would certainly be cool to beat her on Norwegian soil, says Frida with a grin in the interview.

Frida Karlsson recently surprised many with her statement that she may end her career already after the Ski World Championships in Falun 2027. Unexpected words that she still stands by.
– I want a mental end date and I work best towards the deadline. For me, it’s a good way to increase motivation and now I can look forward to three really fun years with two World Cups and an Olympics, she says to the local newspaper.
