The songs on the albums of the rock band Queen have been bought for a historically large amount, say, among other things Variety– and Forbes -foliage.

Sony Music is buying the band’s catalog and several other rights for a billion pounds. Live performance rights are excluded from the deal.

Formed in 1970, the band’s hit list includes numerous classic songs such as Bohemian Rhapsody, Another One Bites the Dust, Radio Ga Ga, Somebody to Love, We Will Rock You and We Are the Champions.
