Fanny Teijonsalo fell into a special hug at the European

The evening competitions of the European swimming championships start at 19:25 at Areena.

Fanny Teijonsalo was eighth in the preliminaries of the women’s 100-meter backstroke at the European Long Course Championships in Belgrade. Teijonsalo advanced with a time of 1:01.99 to the swimming semi-finals in the evening starting at 19:50. The fastest of the starts was from Ireland Danielle Hill with a time of 1:00.62.

Also Olli Kokko see you tonight in the semifinals starting at 19:59. Kokko was 16th in the men’s 50 meter breaststroke heats. His time was 27.97. Germany was the fastest at the start Noel de Geus at 27.07.

Friday’s other Finnish swimmers qualified for the continuation.

In the men’s 50m breaststroke Julius Nyberg was the 20th of the heats, Davin Lindholm 22nd and Jami Ihalainen 30’s Nyberg’s time was 28.12, Lindholm’s 28.18 and Ihalainen’s 28.84.

In the preliminaries of the women’s 50m freestyle Kia Metsäkonkola got a time of 25.81, Mia Pentti 26,21 and Veera Kivirinta 26.80. Metsäkonkola was 19th, Pentti 26th and Kivirinta 33rd. The number one in the preliminaries was Greece Theodora Drakou with a time of 24.89. Contrary to preliminary information, Teijonsalo did not participate in the 50-meter freestyle.

In the evening’s competitions, they will also swim in the 1,500-meter freestyle final Ada Hakkarainen and Leonie Tenzer. The final competition will take place according to the schedule at 20:49.

The final limit of results for the Paris Olympics ends on June 23.
