4.15 pm: Sports plane crashes in Ederveen
1.40 pm: Car and truck accident in Soest
A car collided with a truck on the Steenhoffstraat in Soest this afternoon. A police spokesperson said that the driver was trapped in the car for some time. Ultimately, the person was able to be freed from the car.
The accident happened around 12:45 p.m. According to a press photographer, the driver was taken to hospital, but the police could not confirm this.
13.25: Truck stuck under viaduct
A truck got stuck under a viaduct on the N201 this afternoon. The driver thought the truck could pass under the viaduct, but that turned out not to be the case. The car was too high and it got stuck.

11.33 am: Train traffic at a standstill between Veenendaal and Rhenen
Train traffic between Veenendaal and Rhenen is at a standstill this morning. The NS is talking about a level crossing disruption, the extra travel time will amount to more than an hour.
Research must reveal what exactly is going on. Until then, the NS will operate according to an adjusted timetable. There are no replacement buses available, the rail company said.

10.45 am: Gas leak on Cuneraweg in Rhenen
A gas leak occurred on the Cuneraweg in Rhenen this morning. This happened around 8:30 am due to excavation work next to the road. According to a press photographer, the smell of gas can also be smelled in the area. Stedin is present to close the gas leak, which they do by creating a temporary diversion.
Part of the road is closed. Traffic controllers try to direct traffic. The fire brigade remains present until the gas no longer escapes.
10 a.m.: Car in the water with mother and two children
A mother with two children fell into the water on the Lakerveld in Lexmond around 8:20 am this morning. One of the children and the mother were taken to hospital.

From midnight tonight, many police stations in the Netherlands will be closed for 24 hours. The unions are holding a campaign today for a better early retirement for police employees. Anyone who wants to file a tax return must do so online or on another day.
