The tournament, held June 7 at Maple City Country Club near Chatham, was organized by the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation with the support of about 30 volunteers and the 136 golfers who played in the event.

“For a charity golf tournament to net over $120,000, it speaks volumes about the generosity of this community, and the number of local organizations and community members who are passionate about supporting our hospital,” said Christine Mitchell, CKHAF president and chief executive in a media release.

“We continue to be amazed by the support that we receive from across our community, and we’re so proud to have been able to deliver an unforgettable experience to our golfers, thanks to our generous event sponsors and the tireless efforts of our volunteers. ”

Proceeds from the tournament will support the highest priority needs at CKHA, allowing the foundation to continue to make crucial investments in life-changing equipment and facility upgrades in our local hospital sites in Chatham and Wallaceburg, organizers said.

“The needs and priorities of our hospital are always changing,” said Bob Hockney, CKHAF board chair in the release.

“The support that we receive through fundraisers like this is so important because it allows the foundation to remain responsive and adaptable in our commitment to meet these evolving needs,” he added.

“We are able to exceed our fundraising goals with this tournament year after year because of the incredible support that we receive from our sponsors, golfers and volunteers, and we are so profoundly grateful for their ongoing commitment to CKHA,” Hockney said.

About 40 event partners contributed to the tournament, including platinum donor the Frank and Mary Uniac Charitable Fund along with gold partners including CIBC Wood Gundy: The Seabrook Financial Group and Entegrus.
