Zlatan Ibrahimovic now points out the most beautiful goal in football history – and no one can be surprised by the answer: “Should not happen”

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored many memorable goals during his career.
Now he points out the most beautiful.
– It is the most beautiful in history, he says.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has ended his career and just a week ago he received a well-deserved tribute from the Swedish audience at Friends Arena. A packed arena gave Zlatan the appreciation he deserved, after a career full of great goals, titles and memorable moments.

Points out the best-looking target

It was precisely at the Friends Arena that one of Zlatan’s absolute career highlights came. When Sweden opened the arena with a match against England, it was a total Zlatan show, as he scored four goals and single-handedly defeated the opponents. And in the match, Zlatan scored one of the most delicious goals of his career.

Ibrahimovic intercepted a ball midway into the attacking half after goalkeeper Joe Hart was out and headed away a ball. Ibrahimovic took the lead with a bicycle kick that sailed all the way into the goal, and when Ibrahimovic himself gets to decide, he doesn’t just think it’s the prettiest goal of his career – but the prettiest in all of football history.

– There is no one else who has scored a goal in this way. It’s the best-looking goal in history, and I’m not just saying that because I’ve scored it. Just check it out. I’m thinking… it won’t happen again. It won’t happen, he tells SVT on TikTok.

“It shouldn’t happen”

Ibrahimovic believes that no other player would have even considered trying a bicicleta in that situation, and that he also scored on it means a lot to him.

– Who thinks of doing that, in that situation? That’s what I mean. Just there, just thinking about it is like… forget it. It shouldn’t happen. You shouldn’t do that. Out of ten coaches, out of ten players, everyone had said: “No, no. Take the ball down, we’re leading the game. Play. Waste time.” I think of a bicicleta, 20 meters outside the penalty area. And I succeed, I make goals. It is impossible to describe that feeling.

Ibrahimovic scored four goals in the match, and he will never forget that.

– It’s so nice that I did it at home, in front of the Swedish people. Everything worked. All. I could have shot the ball from halfway, it would have been a goal anyway. All I did was just gold, he says of the match.
