In Burkina Faso where silence and terror reign, it is one of the rare Burkinabe authorities that still has a say. The National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) is an independent public authority. A national institution for the promotion, protection and defense of rights which published a statement on Tuesday June 18 highlighting certain difficulties observed in the country.

Expressing first of all its solidarity and compassion for the soldiers and Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland who die in the fight against terrorism, the CNDH dwells on a point which was again affirmed during the new charter of the transition adopted at the national meetings of May 25, in this case, “consolidate the rule of law” in Burkina Faso.
However, on this point, the national commission is worried and notes an increase via social networks and during public demonstrations of a speech described as hateful by many Burkinabè.
Arrests and kidnappings
In addition, the CNDH is particularly concerned by the arrests and kidnappings of citizens by unidentified individuals and without all adequate procedures. In this same document, the non-execution of court decisions is also mentioned and deplored.
Another aspect discussed, the increase in the country’s internal debt which leads to a slowdown in economic activity, without forgetting the questioning of the acquired rights of certain workers, regrets the CNDH
The Commission therefore invites the government to resolve all of the shortcomings mentioned and asks the transitional president of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, to ensure his role as guarantor of the independence of Justice.
