There is a nationwide blackout in Ecuador.
Minister of Energy Roberto Luque told the X-message service that the widespread power outage is due to a fault in the power transmission line.
According to him, the authorities are currently working to fix the fault.
Due to a power outage, for example, the metro service in the capital Quito is not operational.
Also in April, there were long-lasting power outages in Ecuador, when a long-lasting drought seriously hindered the production of hydropower in the country.
