Additional fines for SJ – a total of over two million last year for Stockholm-Duved

In the past year, the Swedish Transport Administration has charged SJ with a fine of SEK 2,092,000 for deficiencies in the way the night train traffic was conducted between Duved and Stockholm in both directions. The shortcomings listed are Lack of punctuality, canceled traffic, lack of production and lack of comfort.

Bad toilets recurring problem

The latter of the points includes, among other things, the function of showers and toilets. It is also the point that generates the largest part of the penalty. Just over SEK 300,000 relates to bad toilets during the first quarter of the year. The total amount for the quarter is SEK 628,500.

Less money for night trains

The fine is regulated by SJ receiving less money, corresponding to the amount of the fine, from the Swedish Transport Administration for the next contract period. SJ has received this type of fine several times before – see previous articles on the subject below.
