A 12-year-old girl was allegedly beaten and then raped this weekend in Courbevoie. Three teenagers were arrested and must be heard by a children’s judge this Tuesday.
Fear in Courbevoie (Hauts-de-Seine). According to information from Le Parisien, a 12-year-old girl, accompanied by her parents, filed a complaint of rape at the city police station this weekend. The events took place near Square Henri Regnault. Accompanied by her boyfriend, the victim would have been forced to go to an abandoned hangar by three teenagers, “including her ex-boyfriend, on the premises of a former nursery” specifies the daily. The three teenagers allegedly beat her and insulted her before raping her.
Requisitions for placement in pre-trial detention
As of this weekend, the Nanterre public prosecutor’s office opened a preliminary investigation into rape and referred the matter to urban security at the Courbevoie police station. This is why, as of Monday, the three teenagers were arrested. They must be presented this Tuesday, June 18, 2024 before a children’s judge for indictment. Requests for placement in pre-trial detention have already been made. A judicial investigation is opened “on counts of aggravated rape, aggravated sexual assault, attempted extortion, invasion of privacy, death threats, violence and insults” specifies the Nanterre public prosecutor’s office with Le Parisien.
The ex-boyfriend angry because of the victim’s Jewish religion?
Originally from Rueil-Malmaison (Hauts-de-Seine), the alleged perpetrators aged 12, 13 and 14 years old admitted the facts during their hearings. Still according to information from Le Parisien, the victim’s ex-boyfriend declared that he had acted because the latter had hidden her Jewish religion from him.
Investigators reportedly found anti-Semitic images on his phone, “notably that of a burning Israeli flag.” One of the two other teenagers interviewed by the police allegedly admitted to having hit the young girl because of “bad words about Palestine”. All three allegedly claimed to have acted out of revenge. Finally, the gynecological examination carried out on the alleged victim at the Garches medical-judicial center would have confirmed the rape.
