A stabbing incident occurred on the morning of Monday June 17, in a supermarket in Metz, in Moselle. Several injuries have been reported while the attacker(s) are still on the run.
Five people were injured with knives, including two very seriously, during a knife attack which took place in the Borny-Zouk supermarket located in the Borny district of Metz, in Moselle, this Monday June 17 around 10:15 a.m., announced Yves Badorc, the public prosecutor of Metz. The authorities have relatively little information but according to Lorraine Republican, the five victims would be young people. Among these five people, two are said to be very seriously injured and one of them is life-threatening.
On site, 25 firefighters as well as several police vehicles were dispatched. Three hours after the attack, some of them were still on site to mark the area of rue du Fort-des-Bordes, near the market square, where the supermarket is located. The victims were transported to Mercy hospital but according to France 3 Grand-Estone of them apparently fled at the time of the attack, without knowing why.
After the arrival of the police, interdepartmental security investigators carried out observations and initial investigations. For the moment, the Metz police, to whom the investigation was entrusted, lack information concerning the attacker(s), still on the run.
A vehicle was found by the police on rue de Feivres in Metz. The Metz public prosecutor has already indicated that the terrorist trail was “excluded at this stage” in favor of the thesis of settling scores, but this remains to be confirmed.
