There is no strike in Uppsala, but the overtime blockade is a challenge for healthcare, says the region. It is therefore decided to increase the compensation for those who can imagine moving during their vacation. SEK 17,000 applies for each postponed week.
“The situation in healthcare is under pressure due to the blockade against overtime and overtime,” he says Johan von Knorring, regional director in Uppsala, in a press release.

“Can’t be ruled out”
Several of the regions that are on strike have not yet made any decisions regarding canceled holidays. However, Region Östergötland is concerned about how care will be affected if the strike continues.
“Holidays are laid out as planned as far as we know. However, we cannot rule out moving vacation weeks if the conflict with the Health Care Association continues,” says the director of health care Ninnie Borendal Wodlinin a written comment.
In Skåne, there are no decisions on canceled holidays, but according to the head of negotiations Magnus Dahlberg, it may become relevant shortly.

Negotiating the holiday
In addition to Östergötland and Skåne, strikes have been ongoing in Stockholm, Västerbotten and the Västra Götaland region, as well as Värmland since June 11. In Västerbotten, local negotiations have begun on whether holidays need to be withdrawn.
“This applies to the emergency department at Norrland University Hospital, a unit that must be kept open to the extent that is medically justified. If the conflict continues, additional units may have to do the same planning,” says the director of health and medical care Elisabeth Karlsson in a written comment.
