House of the Dragon launched two years ago and became an absolute ratings giant for the US broadcaster HBO. House of the Dragon Season 3 is definitely coming, two more Game of Thrones series in the planning stages

HBO has great confidence in the Game of Thrones brand. Despite the failed Naomi Watts series, the expansion of the franchise is in full swing. As Variety reports, we can expect two more spin-offs as well as a Season 3 of House of the DragonHBO gave the green light to the renewal last week.

  • House of the Dragon Season 3 continues the story of House Targaryen. The series was created by Ryan Condal (Rampage) and Game of Thrones mastermind George RR Martin. It is based on the novel Fire & Blood, which was also written by Martin.
  • A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms revolves around the characters Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire Egg. The characters come from Martin’s novella Tales of Dunk and Egg. Peter Claffey (Vikings: Valhalla) and Dexter Sol Ansell (The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes) play the main roles. Martin and Ira Parker (Better Things) write and produce the series. Owen Harris (Black Mirror) directs the first three episodes. The first season has a total of six episodes.
  • Ten Thousand Shipsset around 1,000 years before Game of Thrones, is being written by Pulitzer Prize winner Eboni Booth (Primary Trust) after Brian Helgeland (LA Confidential) left the project. Although it seemed at one point that the series would not happen, Martin recently confirmed that Ten Thousand Ships is still in development.

    • In addition, a kind of sequel to the main series was also discussed, in which Kit Harington would have returned as Jon Snow. In the meantime, the project is on hold.
