There will be a new champion in the men’s Finnish Cup, as last season’s winner Ilves immediately lost their first cup match.
Five Veikkausliiga teams played their fifth round match of the Finnish Cup on Saturday. FC Haka, AC Oulu and VPS played against lower league teams and each match ended 5–1 for the league team. Instead, SJK knocked out Ilves in Tampere with 4–2 (2–2).
