Ginobili Hardaway and Karl lead the 2022 Hall of Fame

The Naismith Hall of Fame has chosen the most successful representatives for its 2022 edition. In Springfield, it will be possible to pay tribute to core people in the NBA during the last twenty years such as the players Manu Ginobili and Tim Hardaway or the coach george karl. Also included in the list SwinCashiconic WNBA player, or Bob Hugginsveteran NCAA coach.

The names were advanced by Shams Charania (The Athletic) before the announcement was official, which, as always, is made on Saturday.

Manu Ginobili, retired from the NBA in 2018, is one of the main legs of Gregg Popovich’s Spurs who have dominated the NBA for fifteen years in this still short 21st century. In the case of the Argentine, who had previously won the Euroleague with the Virtus de Bologna, there were four championships: 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2014. He was a member of the All-Star twice and was included in the best quintets of the season in two others. Alongside Parker and Duncan, among others, they built a dynasty in San Antonio that, in their case, is supported by the enormous success they also had with Argentina’s Golden Generation that culminated in winning the 2004 Athens Olympics.

Tim Hardaway, after many years being removed from those pools, finally enters the Hall of Fame. The player from Chicago played 14 years in the NBA and his best stages were with the Warriors and the Heat. The Miami team even retired his number 10 in honor of his work. He has played All-Star five times. This famous ’90s point guard is the father of the namesake son who is now on the roster for the Mavericks, another of the teams the father played for.

George Karl last coached in the NBA in 2016 and will now be recognized for his record. In addition to the North American league, his double stage at Real Madrid stands out, which he always remembers with gratitude. He was the Coach of the Year in 2013, curiously the last course of a successful path with the Nuggets that Carmelo Anthony led on the track. He was one of the rivals of Jordan’s Bulls, since with the Supersonics he reached the 1996 Finals and lost 4-2 there.
