At 11.00 today, the second government decision was made to bring Johan Floderus and Saaed Azizi home. Just over ten hours later, Floderus and Azizi landed on Swedish soil.
At 6 pm, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson announced that he had spoken with them when they were on the plane home to Sweden.
“Long journey ahead but nice to hear their voices. Both said that, given the circumstances, they feel quite well,” wrote Kristersson.
Details: Flew home from Oman
The two Swedes were flown home in a private plane of the model Falcon 7X, according to information given to TV4 Nyheterna. The plane took off from Arlanda, went down to Oman and then flew back to Arlanda.
From the Swedish side, they have not commented on which actors other than Iran and Sweden were involved in the prisoner exchange. But both media from Oman and Iran report that Oman participated in and carried out the exchange.
According to Iranian media, Hamid Nourys was flown to Tehran from the Omani capital Muscat. This week, the French citizen Louis Arnaud, who was also imprisoned in the Evin prison in Tehran, was also able to return to France after a negotiation led from the Omani side.
The Prime Minister said on Saturday that there is a lot to tell about the operation, but that for security reasons they could not tell more. At 10:30 PM, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer and Minister of Foreign Affairs Tobias Billström will hold a press conference on the occasion of the prisoner exchange.
