With the trilogy Olympus Has Fallen, London Has Fallen and Angel Has Fallen, Gerard Butler has made his most successful action series. According to The Numbers, the three films grossed more than 500 million US dollars at the worldwide box office.
But with this high sum, the star was apparently missing a piece of the pie. Butler felt he had been left out of the profits of the first part and took the production companies to court. Here he emerged victorious.
Gerard Butler sued in court for more than $10 million
As Deadline reports, the star sued production companies Nu Image and Millennium Film in 2021 because he was still owed more than $10 million in profits from Olympus Has Fallen. The production companies are said to have underreported their own revenue and profits by more than $11 million.
2023 Deadline subsequently reported that the Legal dispute in Butler’s favour It was not made public how much money the actor received. Butler is said to have been happy with the amount.

What’s next for Gerard Butler’s Has Fallen series?
After three films, it was announced in February 2024 that the series would be continued with the French action series Paris Has Fallen without a butler in front of the camera. In the plot of the new edition, a young bodyguard (Tewfik Jallab) protect the French Defense Minister, when terrorists carry out an attack at a major event.
A release date for the new series from the Has Fallen universe has not yet been announced. However, since filming has already been completed, Paris Has Fallen could be released this year.
