Breukelen – Opposition is growing against a plan by the province to introduce paid parking in the P+R Breukelen, near the station. Councilor Hans van den Akker of Stichtse Vecht calls the idea an “incomprehensible measure that causes people to leave the train behind.” Local entrepreneurs also don’t like the plan. Whether the resistance from the municipality and entrepreneurs is enough will only become clear later this month when the Provincial Council votes on the plan.
