By designating a movement as terrorist, the United States freezes all of the group’s US assets and generally prohibits its citizens from engaging with the organization or its affiliates.
NRM is Sweden’s largest neo-Nazi group, and it operates in Norway, Denmark and Iceland in addition to Sweden. The Nordic Resistance Movement (PVL) has also operated in Finland, but it was ordered to be abolished in 2020.

Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billström commented for Aftonbladetthat the Swedish government received information about the terrorist list in advance from the United States.
