The reactions surrounding Bianca Ingrosso on social media after the revelation

SVT Nyheter Väst’s review of Gina Tricot’s advertising collaboration with Bianca Ingrosso showed that the clothing giant, which promised its own forest, in fact only owned 503 of the forest’s total of 17,600 trees.

After the review, the campaign has been accused of greenwashing and in the comments section of Bianca Ingrosso’s Instagram account – with 1.4 million followers – the issue is discussed.

Gina Tricot and the campaign with Bianca Ingrosso

  • Bianca Ingrosso on the criticism of Gina Tricot Forest: “Trust in the agreement”

  • Opinions both for and against

“It’s clear that Bianca Ingrosso has no responsibility for what she promotes or says,” asks an Instagram user with obvious irony.

“The collaboration with Gina Tricot is just ridiculous and shows that you don’t care but are only interested in the money,” writes another.

Many of the commenters also support Ingrosso:

“In what way is it her fault that Gina greenwashed? And how the hell would she know that when no one else did?”

“So totally crazy how much jealousy there is in her comments, be glad she succeeded.”

Stefan’s dick against the clothing giant

But it is not only in social media that opinions are expressed. Borås resident Stefan Nilsson bought a tree seedling in a pot and placed it outside Gina Tricot’s headquarters with the greeting: “Hereby would like to make a small contribution to help get your forest together.”

    – If you spend 80,000 kroner on a forest and several million on an influencer who will get people to shop, then it takes on laughable proportions, says Stefan Nilsson.

Gina Tricot refers to its press release where they write “with hindsight, we can state that the number of trees financed by Gina Tricot does not meet the scientific definition of the concept of forest. We could instead say ‘part of a forest’ or ‘contribution to a forest'”.

SVT has asked Bianca Ingrosso for a comment.
