The French women’s team reached second place in the FIFA rankings for the first time in its history, behind Spain, world champion and ahead of England, reigning European champion and vice-world champion. A few weeks after the double confrontation against the English (one victory, one defeat), the Blues, regularly present on the third step of the podium for the last eight years, passed the “Lionesses” in the new FIFA ranking published Friday June 14. Germany moved up to fourth place ahead of the United States, which fell to 5th place.
