US President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy have signed a bilateral security pact.
– This will make Ukraine strong, sustainable and resilient, says Joe Biden at a press conference in connection with the G7 meeting in Italy.
It means, among other things, that the countries expand their intelligence cooperation, that the US continues to train Ukrainian troops and that the US makes investments in the Ukrainian arms industry.
Joe Biden also says that he is satisfied with the decision taken by the G7 countries earlier in the day, to lend Ukraine 50 billion dollars, with frozen Russian assets as collateral.
The US is also imposing 300 new sanctions against Russia, says Joe Biden.
– Vladimir Putin is dependent on income from energy projects. Our new sanctions will disrupt these.
– Putin cannot wait us out, cannot divide us, and we will be with Ukraine until they win this war.
