Wins Sweden’s master chef VIP 2024

After a nail-biting final where, among other things, scallops, white asparagus and coq au vin were prepared, the win in “Sweden’s master chef VIP” went to Tone Sekelius, 26. In the end, it was the dessert that had to decide when Tone managed to charm the jury with his lemon cake with licorice cream, caramel and passion fruit.

– For me, Sweden’s master chef and Masterchef have been favorite programs for many years, so it feels great to win – as a personal triumph, says Tone to TV4.

– The first time I entered the kitchen I felt like a big fan girl. And the pantry, oh my goodness! So cool to be a participant and not the one sitting on the couch watching.

“It was my biggest challenge”

But it was much more stressful than Tone imagined.

– That was my biggest challenge, I would say. Have ADHD and take no medication, and really noticed it the first day. Then I thought that if I’m not going to break down during these weeks, I have to make my own plan, take minutes to breathe, says Tone.

– The focus was on following the schedule in your head and not going for what feels good in the moment. Chill a bit in the beginning instead of blowing on it, she continues.

Tone has always had an interest in food, but not always in cooking it.

– I was a vegetarian for four years many years ago, then I started cooking a lot for myself. My family cooked for themselves and I for mine. I started watching a lot of food programs and YouTube content that revolved around food. So it’s recently that I’ve delved into techniques, says Tone.

– I always try to surpass myself. I cook the dishes again and again to see how I can make it better.

Filip Lamprecht in second place

The winner gets to give away SEK 100,000 to charity. Tone gives the profit to the Rainbow Fund, which works with LGBTQ-oriented issues worldwide.

– LGBTQ is close to me, purely personally. It felt like a choice I made with my heart, she says.

The other finalist, Filip Lamprecht, 27, fell on the finish line. But he expressed no major disappointment over a second-place finish.

– I am so happy for Tone, genuinely. She is so talented, he says in the program.
