Bengtström ran in 47.94 and thus erases Sven Nylander’s old record in the discipline from the Olympics in Atlanta 1996 of 47.98.
– It feels incredibly big. It is such a traditional branch that we had in Sweden, so it means an incredible amount. It is incredibly big to get under 48 seconds, says Bengtström in SVT.
