Two more suspects arrested in Howard Watson Trail robbery probe

Two more suspects were arrested following a robbery and assault on the Howard Watson Trail system.

Police posted a request for witnesses after they were called around 3 pm May 31 to the area of ​​the trail near London Road about a disturbance, which included a potential stabbing and firearms. Officers, including the emergency response team, found an injured man and took him to hospital. He was not stabbed, but had injuries that weren’t considered life-threatening, police said.

Three suspects fled the area on the trail before police arrived.

Mathew Boland, 36, and Christopher Williams, 42, were arrested Friday. Boland is charged with robbery and assault causing bodily harm and Williams is charged with the same two counts along with carrying a concealed weapon, carrying a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and three counts of assault with a weapon, police said. They were both held in custody.

Kayla Gibbs, a 32-year-old Sarnia woman with no fixed address, was arrested May 31 and charged with robbery, assault with a weapon, and possessing stolen property worth less than $5,000. She was released with a future court date.
