South Korea’s military fired warning shots after North Korean soldiers briefly breached the heavily guarded border between the countries last week, South Korean news agency Yonhap reports.

A group of North Korean soldiers crossed the so-called armistice line in the middle of the demilitarized zone that separates the two countries on Sunday, according to South Korea’s military.

The North Korean soldiers returned to their side of the border after the warning, the South Korean military said, adding that no unusual activity could be noted after the incident.
