For Scheffler, it has been a special recent time. In May, he was first accused of being careless in traffic and later of aggravated violence against an official, minor damage and for not having followed the police’s instructions.
This was before the second round of the PGA Championship in Louisville, Kentucky.
Later it was announced that the formal criminal charges were withdrawn and that he would not be prosecuted – after which he was able to continue playing as usual.
Six strokes behind Scheffler in the competition in Ohio came Swedish Ludvig Åberg, who, like the American, went the final round of 74 strokes, two over par, which was enough for a shared fifth place on the difficult course.
