Drove 413 kmh on the highway

Now an owner of a Bugatti Chiron Sport has posted a video where he reaches a full 413 km/h on the German highway.

Lots of power available

The Bugatti Chiron Sport is equipped with an 8-liter W16 engine that pumps out a whopping 1,500 horsepower.

The actual top speed is limited to 420 km/h from the factory. However, for those owners who want, Bugatti offers the opportunity to max out their cars on one of the brand’s test tracks.

When fully loaded, the 100 liter tank is emptied in just nine minutes.

Like a steam locomotive

The Bugatti Chiron is as easy to drive as a Volkswagen Golf – something we have experienced – and despite its 1,500 horsepower, it is surprisingly accommodating.

Even at speeds well over 300 km/h, it is incredibly stable and the car is built to travel far in. That said, high-speed driving of this type, not least on public roads, always leads to a lot of shouting.

Not the first time

At the end of 2021, Czech real estate mogul Radim Passer ended up in windy weather when he drove 414 km/h on the German autobahn.

Despite driving on a stretch without a speed limit, Passer ended up in court for reckless driving, but was never convicted.

Bugatti still holds the unofficial top speed record for a production car – 490 km/h – with the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ model. However, the customer cars are limited to 440 km/h.

Not very common

Despite long stretches without speed limits, the German accident statistics are good and the speed is constantly regulated by roadworks, traffic and digital signs.

Furthermore, there are not very many people who max out their car at every given chance, as high-speed driving increases wear and tear and consumption.
