(Finance) – The European Commission has published the transition path for theaerospace ecosystem on the occasion ofILA Air Show in Berlin. The transition path is one dynamic roadmap to support the green and digital transition of the aerospace ecosystem, as well as to improve its resilience and competitiveness.

“This is the result of an intense co-creation process involving a wide range of stakeholders from industry, EU Member States, research institutes, academia and citizens – explained the Commission in a note –. path contains 53 priority actions identified, which address issues such as sustainable competitiveness, robust regulation, modern infrastructure, skills development and financing for investments, while also focusing on the social dimension and innovation. Actions can be short-term and launched immediately, medium-term (to be launched by 2030) or long-term (to be launched by 2040).”

Stakeholders from the aerospace ecosystem will be invited in the coming weeks to propose engagements to make the journey a reality, with the support and cooperation of the Commission. In preparation for the path, in July 2023 the Commission published a working document of the services entitled “For a resilient, sustainable and digital aerospace and defense industrial ecosystem: scenarios for a transition path“.

By advancing its green and digital transformation and becoming more sustainable, theaerospace industry will maximize its impact to ensure economic stability and contribute to a competitive and resilient single market.
