In the European Parliament (EP) elections in France, the far-right National Rally Party (RN) took the first place by a wide margin with a rate of 31.50 percent, while President Emmanuel Macron’s party Rönesans came in second with a rate of 15.2 percent.
DEFEATED BY A LARGE DIFFERENCE
Making a statement after his party was defeated by a wide margin, Macron admitted that the results were “not good for the parties that defend Europe” and announced that early elections would be held between 30 June and 7 July.
“IT IS A DANGER TO OUR COUNTRY AND EUROPE”
Continuing his statement, Macron said, “I am dissolving the National Assembly, I cannot pretend that nothing has happened. The rise of nationalism is a danger for our country and Europe.”
