Athletics: Kajsa Bergqvist: “Clearly Ali will be washed”

Feverish activity erupted inside the Olympic Stadium late Saturday night. The Swedish national team management wanted to see the home run Ali cleared.

– Now we are waiting for a judge to come out and hopefully say that our protest is approved or that we can come in and review the video. If they reject our protest, we will appeal. We think it’s perfectly clear that Ali will be cleared, says national team captain Kajsa Bergqvist to SVT Sport and looks away towards a metal door where the jury is.

  • Henrik Larsson just off the podium in the 100 meters – filed a protest

  • Scandal at 100 meters – runners did not hear the shot and ran to the finish line

  • “Isn’t fair play”

The Swedish management has looked at the controversial start from several different angles and is convinced that a violation of the rules has been committed.

    – It’s a clear false start and no one else jerks or moves, but he sticks all by himself. It’s not fair play. This just won’t go through. I hope the neutral judges go against the starting judge. There is really nothing to discuss, says Bergqvist.

If Ali is washed out, Henrik Larsson is moved up to bronze.
