A health reporter familiar to Finns is missing on the

British health journalist and TV doctor Michael Mosley has been missing since Wednesday afternoon in scorching conditions on the island of Symi.

The Greek rescue service announced on Thursday that it was looking for a well-known British health journalist and TV doctor Michael Mosleywho is missing on the island of Symi in the Aegean Sea.

According to Greek media, Mosley’s wife Clare Bailey Mosley alerted the authorities on Thursday morning when his spouse had not returned from his walk.

– We were notified at 11:15 a.m. about the disappearance of a 67-year-old Briton, and we have sent a helicopter to the island to help with the search launched by the local police, a spokesman for the fire authority told news agency AFP.

Now the British journalist is being searched for on his holiday island also with the help of volunteers and drones.

Greek Kathimerini magazine according to Bailey Mosley said that her husband left for a hike from the beach of Agios Nikolaos towards Pedi at around 2:30 on Wednesday and has been missing ever since. Bailey Mosley became concerned about her husband’s whereabouts, and local authorities began a search late Wednesday afternoon.

Mayor of Sym Lefteris Papakalodoukas told Kathimerin that it was unbearably hot on the island on the day of the disappearance. A large part of Greece has experienced record temperatures in the first week of June. On Sym, the reading of the thermometer has been a scorching 39.3 degrees at its worst.

– In such conditions, it is easy to get weak, he said.

Mayor Papakalodoukas also said that the area where Mosley was last seen is very difficult to navigate, as it is very rocky.

– Mosley wanted to walk back from the beach, but it was about an hour and a half to Ped, and he could use shortcuts to shorten his journey, he said.

A familiar health reporter from ‘s programs

67-year-old Michael Mosley is a well-known health journalist who has appeared on several BBC programs and directed many documentaries. He is also known as the developer of the 5:2 diet.
