3 players build a fierce gaming setup that works like a real tank – even HandOfBlood admits defeat

Inventors from China are currently causing a stir on YouTube with a crazy gaming setup. 3 World of Tanks fans have taken the trouble to simulate the functionality of a real tank in their studio. The German influencer HandOfBlood also has his say on the level of detail and effort involved.

What does the gaming setup look like? The setup essentially consists of 3 areas that are intended to mimic the inner workings of a real tank:

  • One player takes care of the movement and steering of the tank
  • A player aims the cannon and fires the shots
  • One player takes care of reloading the ammunition
  • In the video you can see the interaction of the individual areas:

How does the setup of the replica tank work? The player on the right controls the tank. He steers the tank with a steering wheel. It is not clear from the video whether he also moves the tank with a foot pedal.

The player in the middle is responsible for reloading the cannon. In a device that is designed to resemble a cannon barrel, ammunition is used up with each shot fired. The ammunition to be refilled is imitated by plastic bottles. As a special highlight, each shot causes smoke to develop from the barrel.

The third player on the far left is responsible for aiming and firing. There are two rotating structures available for this. One is used to tilt the cannon left and right, while the other determines the firing angle (up or down). The shot is fired by pressing a large red button.

The complete equipment also includes binoculars, with which the boys can also target areas that are far away.

HandOfBlood admits defeat, finds it simply brilliant

The influencer and streamer Max Knabe aka HandOfBlood has made a name for himself in the past with elaborate productions. For example, he once spent a recording of a game as Gollum.

HandOfBlood has also tried his hand at tank driving in World of Tanks. So he should be able to judge how much work goes into such a project. You can watch his opinion on the gaming setup and his memories of his attempt to recreate his own tank in the short clip:

What does HandOfBlood say about the gaming setup? The clip begins with a tribute to the achievement of the guys from China. He describes the gaming setup as “over the top” and says that he “can’t hold a candle” to the three tinkerers.

HandOfBlood can’t stop being amazed when he sees the setup. His jaw literally drops when he sees how the gaming tank works. What he sees is simply brilliant.

HandOfBlood then refers to his own attempt to recreate a moving tank. The influencer linked the gun barrel to a mouse tracker in his replica, so that the actions in the tank could also be transmitted to the monitor. In contrast to the setup of the three guys, his tank replica could also drive. Only recently, other tinkerers tried to recreate not a vehicle, but the suit from a well-known franchise: The desert suits from Dune sound far too good to work – fans have built one and are surprised
