Blaming the producers of Under the Seine having taken up the idea of a scenario that he had imagined in 2011, director Vincent Dietschy decided to take legal action. For this one, the similarities between his project, entitled Catfish (which features a man-eating fish in the Parisian river on the eve of the Olympic events), and the scenario of Under the Seine are too numerous to be a simple coincidence. For their part, producers of Under the Seine refute this accusation and claim to have never heard of Catfish. A trial for “parasitism” will take place on June 14 and will decide the fate of the Netflix film, released earlier, on June 5.
