According to the New York Times newspaper, Ben Houchin, an official from the Lancaster Regional Sheriff’s Office, stated that 74-year-old Constance Glantz was reported to have died at the nursing home where she was staying at 09.44 local time yesterday.
Houchin said that after the death announcement, the company employees who carried out Glantz’s funeral services started the transfer process.
Stating that an officer who started the funeral process noticed that the woman was still breathing, Houchin stated that the officer immediately contacted the authorities.
“AN UNUSUAL EVENT”
Houchin stated that fire crews took the woman to the hospital and said, “This is a very unusual incident. I have been doing this job for 31 years and nothing has come to this point before.” he said.
Stating that it has not yet been determined whether the nursing home employees acted illegally in the incident, Houchin emphasized that the investigation into the issue is continuing.
