(Finance) – Cisalfa Group has completed the acquisition of SportScheck just 3 months after the opening of the insolvency proceedings by the Court of Munich. Now SportScheck can therefore begin a new phase under the leadership of Italy’s largest sporting goods retailer. The group did not disclose the details of the deal and the agreed price.
SportsCheck will maintain the brand and its positioning of premium sporting goods retailer based in Munich, but strong synergies will be developed between the group’s brands and INTERSPORT, we read in a statement. No Cisalfa Sport stores will be opened in Germany.
To make SportScheck more efficient, the group will “elevate” current stores introducing private brands and licensed brands, including lifestyle collections, and will open new flagship stores by the end of 2025. An omnichannel strategy will also be adopted to improve customer services and increase traffic to stores. Furthermore, German companies will leverage a common logistics platform.
“Through the acquisitions of SportScheck and Sport Voswinkel we have further expanded our presence in this country and have planned to invest over 50 million euros to further develop our presence in Germany and reach over 80 stores by the end of 2025″, said Boris Zanoletti, general manager of Cisalfa Group.
