A major event is coming to the cinema for Western fans this year: After Kevin Costner has only dreamed of his huge Western project Horizon for decades, it will become a reality in the cinema this year: Horizon will be released in two months and the sequel Horizon 2 will follow at the end of the year. Neither the surprisingly bad reviews of Part 1 nor the investment of his own fortune can stop Kevin Costner from riding towards the horizon of his western saga. He even sacrificed his involvement in the hit series Yellowstone for this dream project. Now the star announced on Instagram that filming for Horizon 3 has begun:

The Horizon Saga tells the story of several settlers who moved into the American West in the 1960sto find a new home there. However, clashes with warlike Native American tribes make the search for a home they can call their own difficult.
The wide-ranging narrative of a multitude of characters, played by Kevin Costner, Sienna Miller, Isabelle Fuhrman, Jamie Campbell Bower and Sam Worthington, is not yet over after Horizon 1 and 2. Horizon 3 is intended to bring the strands together further. In order to achieve a real ending, Costner himself says, however, also shoot Horizon 4 may.

When will Kevin Costner’s Horizon Western be released in cinemas?
Horizon will be released in Germany on 22 August 2024 to the cinema. Horizon 2 then has a release date on 7 November 2024Horizon 3 has not yet launched, but we can most likely expect it to be released in 2025.
The final part of the Western saga, Horizon 4, has not yet started filming and therefore has no release date. Originally Costner wanted to shoot all four parts at once (which was thwarted by the Hollywood strike), so it could be that he will shoot part 4 directly after part 3.
