Increased risk of health care strike – no solution near

According to Sweden’s municipalities and regions, there are no scheduled talks on Sunday, but the parties are next called for talks on Monday to continue the negotiations.

On Tuesday, 2,000 members of the Vårdförbundet at seven of the country’s largest hospitals are ready to go on strike. The second notice could lead to a strike on June 11. This includes a further 1,900 people at care or health centres, among other things.

Negotiations ended on Friday

The conflict is above all about the Care Association’s demands for shorter working hours and sustainable schedules.

During Friday, all local negotiations between the Healthcare Union and the regions on the content of the strike notice were concluded. In several places, the union withdrew conflict measures that are deemed to be dangerous to society. Among other things, the strike notice at units for emergency medicine, surgery and X-ray at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg has been called off.

During the Saturday, the Vårdförbundet organized local demonstrations in Gothenburg, Malmö and Umeå to draw attention to the conflict. See more in the clip above.
