Remains of a deceased person have been found at the edge of a beach in northeastern Gotland. The person is considered to have been deceased for a long time and has probably been washed up from the sea. The find was made on Sunday morning on the uninhabited island of Skenholmen northeast of Gotland by a private person.
This is a bird sanctuary, with no roads. It is difficult to judge how long this person has been in the water. We judge that these skeletal parts have floated ashore, says Rebecca Landbergpress spokesperson at the police.
The person cannot be identified and the police are currently working on handling the remains. The person’s gender has not yet been determined.
