A 55-year-old man is charged with grievous bodily harm after he accidentally shot his friend with a hunting rifle. The Våda shot is said to have been fired in the kitchen, passed through two walls and then hit the friend in the leg, writes Västerbotten-Kuriren.
The incident occurred late in the evening on January 13 this year in a municipality in the interior of Västerbotten. A group of male friends had been out hunting birds, and gathered in the evening at one of the friends’ villas.
When three of them were talking in a bedroom, one of the men suddenly fell to the floor in severe pain. A friend had accidentally fired his hunting rifle from the kitchen, a shot that went all the way into the bedroom and hit the man in the thigh.
The prosecutor believes that the man committed the act through negligence and that the crime is to be assessed as serious as he must have been under the influence of alcohol.
