During Sunday, there may be heavy showers with a risk of flooding in southern Götaland.

SMHI issues a yellow warning during the afternoon and evening.

It also looks like there will be some thunderstorms over the area.

– We still have the warm, humid air and it looks like there could be heavy showers in southern and central Götaland. Also in other places, but most strongly in this area, says Mattias Lind, meteorologist at SMHI.

Already during Saturday, there were warnings of local showers in several parts of the country, with large amounts of rain in a short time.

This means that there is a greater risk on Sunday of flooding of, for example, roads, viaducts, basements and stormwater systems, according to SMHI.

– We see a significant risk that it could become intense, so a warning is warranted, says Lind.

The rest of Sweden will continue to be warm on Sunday, while the Norrland coast may get some new areas of rain. Even Monday can offer warmth and it’s important to enjoy it – later in the week a low pressure moves in from the west.

– In the middle of the week, there will be low-pressure weather with significantly lower temperatures. Then it doesn’t reach 20 degrees, says Mattias Lind.
