The organizers expected protests before the match because of the war in Gaza. It was already clear that the match would be played in front of empty stands for safety reasons.
The match started at 20.35 Swedish time instead of the planned 20.05. It is played in group B2, the qualifying division under the A-division that Sweden is in, and on Friday evening Ireland will meet away from home.
Scotland won the match 4–1.
