Ryan Reynolds cant believe what Hugh Jackman did for Deadpool

In the superhero crossover Deadpool & Wolverine, fourth-wall vandal Ryan Reynolds and wolverine X-man Hugh Jackman join forces this summer. Of course, this isn’t the first action rodeo in a tight costume for either actor. And an ever greater achievement, considering that the two are already 47 and 55 years old.

For the YouTube channel of the US magazine People, the two co-stars interviewed each other and showed that they even without masks and superpowers a great exchange of blows could afford.

Deadpool and Wolverine in conversation: The ultimate compliment crossover

Reynolds particularly admires the precision that Jackman shows in his action scenes:

You hit your marks with speed and confidence, like I’ve never seen before. That was the first time I realised how valuable a background in singing and dancing is when it comes to making an action film. It’s a mixture of relaxation and strength that you need. It’s basically choreography.

24 years in the Wolverine role have certainly contributed a lot to the actor’s wealth of experience, but Reynolds is right: As a musical actor with several Tony Awards and the $435 million success of Greatest Showman under his belt, Jackman can draw on a much richer pool of experience than Marvel stars without this musical-rhythmic background.

Jackman responded as follows and gave some insight into his dance experience:

I’m not a dancer, but I’ve had a lot of dance training and dancing in my job and I love the process of it. […] There came a point, I have to admit, probably ten years ago, when I stopped enjoying it. It hurt. It was hard. But then I had a break after playing a lot of stage and arena shows, and when I came back it was a lot of fun and I was happy.

But Reynolds had more compliments for his experienced co-star:

When Hugh Jackman comes at you at 150 Australian miles per hour, you have no chance of not feeling like you’re going to die in four seconds and I will never forget that. When is Deadpool & Wolverine coming to theaters?

Anyone who wants to see for themselves the physical and character-based clash between Deadpool and Wolverine in the form of Reynolds and Jackman will have to July 24, 2024 go to your favorite cinema.
