Brazen trick uncovered at Bares fur Rares Expert saved the

Fortunately, the experts at Bares für Rares take a very close look. This is demonstrated by one of the most brazen cases in the history of the show. Host Horst Lichter was also shocked by the case in which a jeweler almost brazenly ripped off an unsuspecting customer. The final selling price left everyone speechless.

Cash for Rares expert shocked by brazen fraud attempt

At first, in the show on August 17, 2021, everything seemed as usual at Bares für Rares. Saleswoman Martina Bosch steps up to the expert table with her daughter and presents the object she has brought with her: a gold ring that she likes but no longer wears.

When expert Heide Rezepa-Zabel examines it, it turns out that it is a valuable piece of jewelry. As Stern quotes, the ring “a very unusual design made up of eight diamonds and a so-called tanzanite.” The gold value is already 300 euros. Although the colour of the gemstones is not flawless, Heide Rezepa-Zabel’s assessment is nevertheless very high: between 700 and 900 euros.

Saleswoman Bosch narrowly escaped an attempted fraud. As she reports, she had previously offered the piece of jewelry to a jeweler. However, the jeweler only 50 euros for the ring, which would have been nothing but a blatant rip-off considering the value of the material. Rezepa-Zabel’s estimate is therefore at least 14 times (!) higher.

In the show, Horst Lichter appears dismayed by the shock offer. Bosch is still modest: their desired price is 60 euros. The fact that this sum is exceeded many times over is immediately apparent in the dealership:

Jewelry expert Elke Velten-Tönnies snaps up the ring for 900 euros – and pays 18 times the price of the brazen rip-off offer. Saleswoman Martina Bosch escaped a fraud attempt thanks to Bares für Rares.
