Just in time for the industrial holiday.
The E6 at Stenungsund is then expected to reopen after the landslide.
– We are very pleased that we can open the E6 to through traffic so early this summer, says project manager Daniel Svensson at the Swedish Transport Administration in a press release.
In the second week of July, the Swedish Transport Administration hopes to be able to reopen the E6 in Stenungsund after the landslide in September last year. The authority announces this in a press release.
– We have worked hard and goal-oriented to finish in time so that we can release the traffic before the summer holiday weeks, says project manager Daniel Svensson.
The basic work is done. Now all that remains is asphalting, installation of road railings and lighting.
– We will lay asphalt starting in mid-June. The timetable should last as long as the weather permits and there is no torrential rain all week, says Daniel Svensson.
The appeal: Be patient
Getting the E6 ready for reopening has been the Swedish Transport Administration’s top priority, especially when summer is just around the corner and traffic along the west coast increases.
– We continue to appeal to road users to be patient, show consideration and adjust their road choices and speeds in the short time that remains, especially during the coming long weekends when we know that traffic will increase in the entire area, says Jonas Nilsson, head of road maintenance at Trafikverket Västra region.
E45 is still recommended as a diversion route while waiting for E6 to be roadworthy.
