The measure is seen as a tool to try to get at fraudsters who, via phone or SMS, invite customers to make a larger Swish payment, something that in that case usually requires an increase in the amount limit.

“The time delay introduced gives time to really check whether the information is correct. Time delay is an effective measure because it gives customers time to check and think,” says Andreas Jensen, fraud specialist at Handelsbanken in a press release.

Then the change takes place

The change takes place from June 11 and is, according to the bank, one of several upcoming measures. In the past, the government has demanded that the banks act to stop the trend of more and more fraud attempts.
