In October last year, the government came up with a proposal to tighten the rules for those who drive A-tractors and mopeds, all to reduce accidents. Now the change comes into effect. From June 1, the driver’s license act will be changed so that a probationary period is introduced for those who take a driver’s license with the authorization AM, writes Dagens Juridik.

This means that moped riders and A-tractor drivers must redo the training if they lose their driving license during the first year.

“One difference compared to the probationary period for a driver’s license for a passenger car is that you need to go through the mandatory training for an AM driver’s license before taking the test at the Swedish Transport Administration,” says Susanne Alger, investigator at the Swedish Transport Agency in a press release according to Dagens Juridik.
