How important are cars in Fortnite? Currently, they are more important than ever, because with the start of the new season in Fortnite, the cars have received a major upgrade.

Improvements such as nitro, service stations, powerful bumpers, special tires, but above all the grenade launchers and guns on the roofs make the cars the most effective weapons in the entire game. If you’re faced with them without your own vehicle, it’s almost impossible to get to grips with them. And when you’ve almost finished them off, they just zoom away.

But there is one vehicle on the island that is perfect for putting a quick end to the racing around: the war bus. It has a unique weapon on board that is easy to overlook.

Get a War Bus and use EMP in Fortnite – Here’s how

How do you find the war bus? You can get the war bus by taking on one of the patrols that travel around the island. They usually consist of a war bus and another vehicle, always manned by NPCs. However, it is also possible that one of the new, strong bosses will be on the patrol.

What is the secret weapon? The War Bus in Fortnite has an EMP weapon on board, but not as a cannon – so it’s easy to miss. The EMP blast is instead activated when you activate the bus’s horn. To do this, you have to press the down arrow key on the controller.

The EMP is a strong attack against cars and shields

If you press the horn, the bus emits an EMP blast in a dome shape around itself. This destroys the enemy’s shields and, above all, disables the cars’ engines. This means that your enemies can no longer simply drive away. But be careful: the EMP always has a short cooldown once you have used it.

Tip: This way you can quickly get rid of enemies who have climbed onto your bus and, for example, positioned themselves near the guns, as they cannot withstand the damage for very long.

Important: The grenade launchers or guns on the cars are not currently deactivated. This means that you can no longer escape, but your enemies can still shoot at you.

Are there more ways to defend yourself against cars? Absolutely, but it’s not that easy at the moment. Many players are just getting to grips with the new season to find effective ways to fight the mighty cars. The possibilities are:

  • Other cars with which you can go into offensive combat and beat the competition.
  • The Nitro Gloves can punch cars through the air with an uppercut.
  • The impulse grenade can throw cars off course.
  • And simply getting in can also cause confusion. But that only works if there is still space in the car.
